Danvers,MA - Smoking law is challenged.
Posted By: Doug on Saturday Feb 03, 2007 Filed Under: Cigar Laws
We recently posted a rant about a smoking law story out of Danver’s, MA. The cigar store in question was “Cigars ‘R’ Us”.
The Salem News is now reporting that the owners of the store are making a case to the Board of Health.
Quote:
“It’s too cold outside for customers to sample a cigar and they can’t light up inside so they take their business elsewhere.”
Yeah like online.
These broad sweeping laws that don’t take the time to consider some common sense “what ifs” are going to kill the brick and mortar cigar shop.
And that would be a serious cultural blow to this country.
Cigars are not cigarettes… and you don’t have to be a cigar nut to realize that.
It sounds like the board will at least consider the appeal.
Everyone send all your good luck vibes to Frank Ciampa and Anthony Guarino, owners of Cigars “R” Us.
I hope they get the waiver they are seeking.
